My story
Portrait of Péter Mező
Péter Mező

Playing in a string quartet was my first deliberate choice as a musician. We founded the Accord Quartet in 2001, and I have played with the same three colleagues ever since.

With the Danubia Orchestra, I took part in Péter Eötvös’s international conducting courses over many years. I also worked on the preparation and Hungarian premiere of György Kurtág’s opera Fin de partie. Read about our rehearsals together and Kurtág’s letter in my biography ↗

Through Közös Hang, we prepare concerts together with young instrumentalists from the Máltai Szimfónia music education programme. I am also a trustee of the Út a Zenéhez Foundation.
